The conversation will be moderated by a Sarasota Opera staff member and sponsors will have the opportunity to ask questions. The conversation begins on April 23, 2021 at 6:45pm and ends at 7:15pm.*
Since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the suspension of one-quarter of the 2020 Winter Festival Season, Sarasota Opera has faced unprecedented challenges to our mission to entertain, enrich, and educate our larger community. We knew going into this crisis that our patrons would support us as best they could, but the level of that support and the enthusiasm attached to it was truly above and beyond our expectations. Sarasota Opera | A Celebration! honors that commitment as we look back at what the Sarasota Opera Community has made possible over the years.
We are thrilled to be able to welcome small audiences back to the Opera House and to offer our work online this season. However, with the reduced capacity in the theater, we are still anticipating ticket sales to be 80% lower than usual. To continue to produce world-class opera, true to the vision of the composer, and bring the joy of music to the Sun Coast, we still need support from our audience and opera-lovers from around the world who are not able to join us this year.
Through purchasing a ticket or sponsorship, participating in the silent auction, and engaging in the Fund the Mission drive, you can applaud our work on stage or reward the resiliency of the Sarasota Youth Opera program with a special gift.
Even though we’re apart, we can still come together to celebrate a remarkable achievement by a devoted community and once again raise our voices in support of all we love about Sarasota Opera.
