Overview

Absent from Sarasota’s stage since 1986, this beloved comedy is one of the most popular in the repertoire. When the landowner Adina won’t pay attention to him, Nemorino buys a magic love potion from the traveling quack Dr. Dulcamara in order to win her heart. Audiences can’t fail to respond to Donizetti’s sparkling score, including the famous tenor aria “Una furtiva lagrima.”
